Quick & Easy Tips for Staying Organized

Hiring a maid service will help keep you clean and organized, but sometimes you might look around mid-week and realize clutter is sneaking up on you. There are a few easy things you can do in five minutes or less to keep clutter at bay.

Living/Family Room

Walk through the room and pick up anything that doesn’t belong. Once you have all of the items picked up, take them back to their places. By doing this every couple of days, you’ll keep clutter from stacking up and turning into a bigger job.

Give everything in the room a home. Find a place for everything from magazines to TV remotes and get in the habit of returning things to their places as you finish with them.

Bedrooms

Make the bed. The single best thing you can do to make a bedroom look better is make the bed. Make this a daily habit and teach your kids to do the same, and you’ll be pleased at how much better you feel when you enter your room.

Use baskets or plastic containers. Most bedrooms have lots of little things in them: toys, cosmetics, jewelry, and change, for instance. Containers help keep those things organized, so invest in baskets, plastic containers, jars, shelves, or drawers to keep everything in its place.

Kitchen

Think about size and shape. When you’re putting things away in your cabinets or pantry, think about how much room each item is going to take up. This way, you can plan how to put things away to maximize space.

Clean up immediately after meals. It might be tempting to finish eating and leave the cleaning for later, but if you start as soon as you finish eating, you’ll likely do a better job and have cleaner results in the long run. Get the whole family involved in this one!

A little bit of house cleaning time during the week can make your home a more relaxing place every time you come home!
