Best Methods to Remove Wine Stains from Carpet

A wine stain on your carpet is a scary sight and removing it may prove difficult if it stays there for a while especially for red wines. However, there are a few methods that can be used to remove wine stains with products already in the house.

1. Take a spoon and scoop any puddled wine from the carpet , do it carefully to prevent the wine from spreading on the carpet. Next is to take a clean cloth and wipe the wine stain thoroughly until no more wine gets absorbed by the cloth. Take club soda and pour it on the stain and then take another clean cloth and wipe the club soda together with the wine stain until it is dry.

2. Blot the wine stain with a clean rag , this is to prevent the wine from getting absorbed deeper into the carpet. Mix a solution of 1 tablespoon of warm water, a tablespoon of vinegar and a tablespoon of dishwasher. Pour the solution on the stain and rub it with a clean cloth until it is dry.

3. Using dish soap and hydrogen peroxide , Mix the solution and pour it on the wine stain. Take a clean cloth and rub the wine stain thoroughly, make sure you get all the stains from the wine. Then pour clean cold water plus some dish washer and rub it a second time. This is to ascertain the stain is removed and prevent the carpet from being soapy.

4. Using salt , pour white wine on the stain to dilute the color. Pour cold water and blot the wine stain, try not to press the cloth to avoid the wine from being absorbed. Pour salt on the stain and leave it for approximately 10 hours, the salt draws out the wine stain. Finally, vacuum your carpet and it will be stain free.

5. Blot up the stain carefully to reduce the amount of wine on the carpet . Pour some cold water on the stain to dilute it the mix a baking soda and warm water. Pour it on your stain making sure to cover the whole stain and let it dry. Finally is vacuuming the stain and your carpet will be as good as new.
